Anti spam software can control spam and junk email

Anti spam software has been around for a few years, but it hasn't been until recently that it has become very effective in the effort to control spam. Previous incarnations of this breed of software has had fair to middling results in the effort to combat unsolicited email (commonly known as "spam email", "junk email" or "bulk email"). One of the technologies that has been critical in the success of recent spam blocker programs is called a "Beysian filter".

Beysian filter technology is different from older, simpler content filtering in that it not only detects junk email based on the textual content, but it can also "learn" what kind of spam email you get and detect future junk mail based on what it learns. It can pick up on permutations of certain "spam words" (like v1agra) that other filters can miss, and can detect spam email simply by generating a "signature" of what your typical spam looks like.

Spam Cop is an excellent bulk email filter that incorporates Beysian filter technology and also has an excellent suite of reporting tools. If you need a good spam filter that can block most of the junk email that comes your way, you should look into Spam Cop.

It will take a little while to train the filter, so you may not get great results with the amount of junk email you see right away, but after a few weeks of using the filter, you should notice a very large decrease in the amount of bulk email that ends up in your email box, so remember that good things come to those who wait.

The Beysian filter can be an excellent spam blocker once you teach it to recognize your spam mail. Once the filter is "trained", you can have up to a 99% success rate with this type of filter.
