Worm Remover: Patches and Removal Tools Clean PC Infections Properly

Once your computer has become infected, a worm remover specific to the infection is pretty much the only way you will restore your system. In many cases you will need more than a worm remover to deal with an infection. Most of these infections attack a weak point or bug in some part of the operating system or internet software (explorer/outlook). Without fixing the problems with a patch your system can be re-infected again very easily.

Internet worms are particularly nasty because they hijack system resources and files. This can make it very hard to access the internet to get the worm remover and other tools and patches you need to clean your system.

  • Norton Utilities: The most comprehensive set of integrated computer utilities to keep your system running smoothly - automatic hands-off system stability.
  • Pc Cillin: All-in-one: antivirus, anti-spam, firewall for your PC and PDA. Use this link for $10 off one of the premier PC security software suites.
  • ZoneAlarm Pro: Premier personal firewall that helps keep worms, trojans and viruses OUT so you never get infected. Rebate available through this link!
  • McAfee Internet Suite: One of the top guns in antivirus, worm, and trojan protection for home and business computer users. See how McAfee can help you today.

For example with the W32.Blaster.Worm you MUST download and install the patch before cleaning your system with the worm remover. But because of how it works, the dang-blasted Blaster can shut down your PC and prevent you from going online to get the patch, virus definitions, or removal tool. If this happens you'll need to use another machine and copy the worm remover onto a floppy, or boot from the emergency CD that came with your antivirus software.

In some cases it has been reported that tweaking the settings of your firewall (you do have one installed don't you?) can sometimes allow you to download the worm remover and related tools. Normally however, it is best to use your firewall and antivirus software to keep things out in the first place!
